Kelly Antonacci is a Junior Communications major at Temple. This semester at Temple Update, Kelly Antonacci is a Main Anchor, Assistant Producer and Reporter. Her favorite stories to cover are political ones; she was a reporter for TUTV this summer during their coverage of the Democratic National Convention. She is also a Freelance Junior Reporter for Fox29’s morning show, Good Day Philadelphia. In the past, she served as a newsroom intern at WGAL-News 8, the television station in her hometown, Lancaster. She also served as a Communications intern for Jim Kenney during his campaign for Mayor and while he was in the Mayor’s office. If you don’t see her in Studio 3, you’ll probably find her shopping on Walnut Street, eating at Chipotle, or laughing uncontrollably at her own jokes.
Asad Bokhari is a sophomore media studies and production major. This is his second year with Temple Update and he is currently producing Update Now. He is very involved in TUTV as he works on other shows such as Temple Talk, Temple Tonight, and The Vibe. He is also a live shot producer for Temple Update.
Joselyn Castro is a senior Media Studies and Production Major. She was one of the anchor’s for Update Ahora her freshman year and recently just finished being Temple Update’s London correspondent for the fall semester of 2016. She is also the Executive Producer for Temple Smash. This semester she is one of the Assistant Producers and Live-shot producers for the Temple Update show. Joselyn is also now a News Intern at WPVI-TV. On her free time you can find Joselyn watching the food network wishing she could cook.
Nick Charles is a Senior Media Studies and Production Major. Nick has worked with Temple Update for two years and is a weather anchor and assistant producer, live shot producer and reporter. During the summer of 2016, Nick helped cover the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. Nick has also interned at ESPN Radio 92.5/92.7 as a sales and marketing intern. In addition, Nick is an accomplished musician, having performed at The Kimmel Center (Home of the Philadelphia Orchestra) and the Schermerhorn Symphony Center (Home of the Nashville Symphony).
Hannah McComsey is a junior honors student and journalism major from Oxford, Pennsylvania. She has been involved with Temple University Television since her freshman year, starting as a volunteer and anchor for Update Now and moving to Temple Update in her sophomore year. During her time with Update she has worked as a reporter, anchor, floor manager, assignment manager and assistant producer. In addition to Temple Update, Hannah has worked in other aspects of broadcast journalism. She is currently a news intern for FOX 29 – WTXF where she was also selected for the junior reporter program. She also interns for TUTV where she is the assistant producer for the show Bouncing Back. Over the summer Hannah had the opportunity to work for the Temple DNC News Bureau, a project that allowed Temple students to freelance for news outlets during the Democratic National Convention. During this project, she worked for The Macon Telegraph in Macon, Georgia. Hannah works in the career center in Temple University’s School of Media and Communication and is a member of the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority on campus. In her free time she enjoys exploring Philadelphia and eating at Mexican restaurants. After graduation Hannah hopes to land a job as a general assignment reporter focusing on local community issues.
Emily Morrison is a senior Media Studies and Production major in her second semester with Temple Update. In her first semester, she worked as an Assistant Producer and a Writer. Before Temple Update, Emily was an Executive Producer for TUTV’s Temple Talk and had also volunteered with Update Now. Emily has interned with The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, The Mayor’s Office of Philadelphia, FOX 29, and ABC News at the Democratic National Convention. In her junior year, she studied in London and interned at Secret Cinema. This semester, Emily is interning at Glass Entertainment Group. Outside of the studio, Emily can be found exploring Philly, cooking, or watching Netflix.
Alexis Johnson is a third semester graduate student in the MA Media Studies and Production program. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Alexis received her Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2014 with a major in Communications Media and a minor in Spanish. During her time at IUP, Alexis participated in the IUP-TV program, appearing as the talent on The Crimson Highlight, as well as a rotating anchor and field reporter on IUP News. Following graduation, Alexis completed a summer internship program with Pittsburgh Community Television (PCTV21), where she acted as a Production Technician. Alexis went on to earn a full-time position as Productions Coordinator for VITAC closed captioning company. During this time, Alexis was also chosen to host a weekly web entertainment segment on UWebTV.com called The Weekly Wrap, were she reported on local and national entertainment stories. After deciding to continue her education, Alexis is now attending Temple University full-time, where she has become active in the TUTV program. She spent last year working as an assistant producer for the entertainment talk show Temple Talk! as well as rotating main anchor, assistant producer, and web/social media coordinator for the university news program Temple Update. This semester, Alexis continues to appear as an anchor and reporter. She also works as a Production Assistant at NBC10 Philadelphia. Alexis will receive her Master of Arts Degree in May of 2017.
Ben Otte is a junior Media Studies & Production major. In addition to some on-air reporting, Ben mainly serves as Temple Update’s Technical Adviser. Outside of Temple Update, Ben works largely with OwlSports Update as a producer and production supervisor. He’s also on staff with TUTV as a student producer/editor and occasional master control operator. After graduation, Ben hopes to work in live television in either news or sports. He hopes to one day work on a national market scale for a major network.
Tony Pearson is a freelance editor and graphic artist who has been with the Update team since Fall of 2015. A class of 2019 student in the undergraduate program at Temple’s School of Media and Communication, Tony is studying for a degree in media studies and production. Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, he has been working with media in various forms since a young age. Initially for fun and later as a side job, Tony has been active in school news since high school, and aims to continue along that path in Temple. As of now, Tony is a part of Temple Update’s graphics team. Additionally, Tony is a host at WHIP student radio, and has also appeared as a voice for Temple Update’s Update Now and Temple Talk.
Alex Petyerak joined Temple Update as a freshman in Fall 2013. He started as an Update Now producer, and then worked his way up to technical roles on Temple Update including: director, technical director, and currently, production designer. Alex has held 3 internships during his time at college at WLVT-TV, WTXF-TV, and WCAU-TV, all in post-production and creative departments. He is from Allentown, PA, and is an avid skier, runner, and dog-lover. Currently, Alex works as a graphic artist for KYW-TV CBS3 Eyewitness News.
Becca Rosenblatt is a junior media studies and production major and has been working with Temple Update since her first semester freshman year. Starting as a volunteer with Update Now,Becca co-produced and directed Update Now during her second semester at Temple. From there on, Becca has run prompter, assistant produced, and technical directed for Temple Update. She was also the editing manager and is one of two directors this semester, along with being the volunteer coordinator for Temple Update and all associated productions. In her free time, Becca loves to craft with her sorority sisters in Phi Sigma Sigma and go to Zumba classes at the IBC.
Kristina Stidham is a Junior Media Studies and Production major here at Temple and has been volunteering with Temple Update since her freshman year. During her sophomore year, she was a Co-Producer for Update Now for one semester and worked as Technical Director, Graphics, and various other positions for Temple Update. She just returned from a once-in-a-lifetime study abroad experience in Dublin, Ireland where she had the opportunity to act as a Temple Update International Correspondent and report overseas for the semester. She studied at the Dublin Business School and also had an internship at Unique Media, a do-it-all Dublin media company focusing on client public relations, social media management, and marketing. Now back at Temple, Kristina is returning to Temple Update as the Graphics Coordinator and hopes to continue to expand her production experience. She also sings with Jewkebox A Cappella and is the Business Manager for the group, and hopes to record and produce their second album this spring.
