Women’s Basketball Advances To The Quarter Finals of the WNIT!

After a very narrow victory over Quinnipiac last week, Temple took a very decisive game over Ohio University in a 75-61 win that sent them to the quarter finals of the Women’s National Invitational Tournament. Temple showed a strong defensive performance in this game by recording 11 steals, which turned into 16 points off turnovers, and causing the leading three point shooter in the country, Kiyanna Black, to a 0-5 shooting night and the team as a whole to a 3-21 shooting night. Third Round Awaits Women’s Basketball Team!

After suffering a two point loss against them in the regular season, Temple’s women’s basketball team won by the same amount they lost by in a 64-62 win when it counted the most. Feyonda Fitzgerald lead all scorers with 23 points, while Tanaya Atkinson and Erica Covile each included a point-rebound double-double with Atkinson having 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Covile having 12 points and 12 rebounds. Women’s Basketball Advances in WNIT

PHILADELPHIA — While the men’s team faced a close loss at the hands of Iowa yesterday, Temple’s women’s basketball team was able to advance in the WNIT with a 74-66 win over in state rival, Drexel. Alliya Butts and Feyonda Fitzgerald combined for 43 points and nine assists, while Erica Covile had a point-rebound double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Tanaya Atkinson almost had one with nine points and 10 rebounds. After Their First Tournament Win In School History, Temple Loses To USF In The Tournament

After splitting the season 1-1, USF got the best of Temple when it mattered the most with a 64-46 win over the Owls. The day before, against Tulsa, was Temple first ever win in the American Athletic Conference tournament. Tanaya Atkinson is the only player to have scored over double digits with 17 points with Erica Covile, in her last game as an Owl, almost getting a nearly getting a point-rebound double double with nine points and nine rebounds. After defeating them in a close contest last time they played, USF got the better of Temple this time around in a game to see who would take second place in the American Athletic Conference in a 76-62 win.
