Protestors Greet Trump at State of the Union

President Trump’s first State of the Union address was met protests before he even arrived at the Capitol. Protestors took over a corner of 3rd and Constitution Avenue ahead of the speech, hoping to catch a glimpse of the motorcade. Four women, who showed up with cut out letters spelling the word ‘liar,’ told the officers keeping protestors on the sidewalk “if he drives by, don’t block our signs.” Just minutes before the 9pm announced start, four presidential limousines made their way past the crowd, drawing large boos and chants of the twenty-fifth amendment – the amendment of impeachment. Temple Takes Next Step Toward Multipurpose Facility

On January 18th, President Richard M. Englert announced that Temple University will be taking the next steps in building a multipurpose facility on campus. In an email sent to the Temple community, Englert said, “I’m pleased to report that Temple is taking the next step in evaluating the potential for a multipurpose facility, including retail space and a stadium, on our Main Campus.” Talk about a stadium being built on campus has lasted almost two years, and it has caused great controversy with the people who live locally. Former Temple Football Player Arrested in Florida

Former Temple football player and current New York Jets wide receiver, Robby Anderson, was arrested in South Florida on Friday. Police say Anderson was driving 105 mph in a 45 mph zone. He is currently facing nine charges including harm to a public servant/family, fleeing police, resisting an officer, reckless driving, eluding police, failure to drive in a single lane, two counts of disobeying a red light, speeding and turning without a signal.
