Tuesday, October 6, 2015:

A 17 year old was taken into custody around 11:30 a.m. in connection to a gunman situation on the Community College of Philadelphia campus.

After reports of a gunman on CCP’s campus around 10:30 a.m., the college campus and schools around it were placed on lockdown.

This came a day after an online threat against a “university near Philadelphia” was made on 4chan. However, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey did stress in a live interview with CBS3 that it is not in connection with that same threat, nor was it an active shooter situation. It was a personal dispute in which a threat was made with a gun.

No shooting or injuries have been reported.

It is unclear whether the 17 year old suspect goes to CCP or any school in the area. The firearm that the suspect used has not been found, an active search for the weapon and any additional evidence continues.

The lockdown was lifted around 12:30pm. Classes were cancelled for the rest of the day at the community college, per Philadelphia Police.

Below is video from student Youcef Goubaa who was locked inside the Winnet building on CCP’s campus. Winnet building was the first building that was put on lockdown. The video shows SWAT team members with guns, sweeping the perimeter of the Winnet building. Confused students can be heard in the background.
